Danish Language Classes
After many inquiries over the past two years, I am excited to announce that the Beginner I class has enough enrollment to get off the ground. Classes will be starting up on Tuesday, Feb. 5th at Brookfield High School from 7-9 p.m. The course runs for 8 weeks at the cost of $ 104,-. There is no class March 11th (March break).
Last semester we merged the Intermediate and Advanced classes into a class of 9 Advanced students. We received a warm welcome at Brookfield High School after seven years at Rideau High School and everybody seemed happy with their new surroundings. The class was delighted about the cultural theme learning about Denmark’s towns and attractions, the Vikings, the Royals, H. C. Andersen’s fairytales and Danish Christmas traditions. We ended the semester with a Christmas celebration singing Danish Christmas carols and eating Æbleskiver. We also continued our tradition of meeting each other at the Danish European film festival and eating lunch together at the Danish Christmas Bazaar. It is always a joy to see such a turnout of old familiar faces!
The Advanced class will start back up on Wednesday Feb. 6th at Brookfield High School from 7-9 p.m. The course runs for 8 weeks at the cost of
$ 104,-. There is no class March 12th (March break).
This Semester we will be revisiting Ask Ygdrasil and learning more about Nordic mythology.
